Barbara Fallenbaum's Original Oil Painting of a colorful island rooster.
One of the first things you notice in Key West is all the colorful roosters and chickens everywhere. They originally came from Cuba and the Caribbean Islands. The roosters were prized for their cockfighting displays. When gaming became illegal they were set free to roam the island. Now you find them everywhere…restaurants, stores, beach, poolside you name it they are there in all their colorful glory.
I spotted this one drinking from a fountain in the middle of an intersection.
- The painting measures 16" x "20, with frame 22.375" x 28.125" x 2.5" deep. The frame is solid pine finished with a cream color over a crackle metallic glaze. Each frame is custom made no two are alike.
- Painting is sold framed. The frame is solid wood and custom for this painting. We finish each one with an undercoated metallic glaze and a nice cream crackle top coat, giving an elegant coastal feel. Each frame is a unique piece of art by itself!
